Our Way of Saying Thank You

To our loyal paddling friends, we thank you for your patronage and support over the years. We wouldn't be here without you and we can't thank you enough. As just a small token of our appreciation, we are pleased to offer a Customer Appreciation trip!  This is a complimentary paddling trip with members of The Kayak Centre team.

This is not an instructional trip (although we will certainly share a few paddling tips along the way) but a fun and enjoyable day on the water. If you have purchased a kayak from us or joined us for an Oceanplay Instructional course you are invited to reserve a space on one of these trips.  Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and limited to one trip per customer per season. In the event that a trip has not filled on the day before the trip and you have already joined us for an earlier appreciation trip - you are welcome to join for a second trip.  Please bring your lunch, gear and an appropriate boat for the paddling activity or alert us when you reserve a space that you will need a boat for the trip. We look forward to sharing and enjoying a day on the water with you!

Sakonnet River Trip -  Monday, August 9, 2010

While much of Rhode Island's coastal zone is densely populated, the eastern shore has by contrast been left to the farmers, dairy cows, and vintners. The Sakonnet River is the most easterly of three passages leading through Narragansett Bay, and many paddlers find it the most inviting because of the rural shoreline and quiet waters. This will be a one way paddle trip, just slightly over 9 nautical miles down the Sakonnet River.  We will put in at Old Orchard Cove (Gull Cove) in Portsmouth and we will take out at Third Beach in Newport.
