Wickford Harbor Tour
The perfect way to get acquainted with the basics of sea kayaking while experiencing the charm and scenery of historic Wickford Village. Accompanied by one of our exceptional Kayak Centre guides you’ll glide through the tranquil waters of Wickford, stretch your legs on one of the islands, and take in the beautiful Rhode Island coast from the seat of your kayak.
Our fleet includes single and double touring kayaks which are exceptionally stable and perfect for paddlers of all abilities. Each trip is approximately three hours and includes refreshments.

Sunset Paddle

Take in some spectacular sunset views as we lead you on a tranquil paddle through either Wickford Harbor or Ninigret Pond in Charlestown, depending on the evening.
These gentle sunset excursions are great for paddlers of all abilities and are a perfect way to end your day, or begin your evening!

Ninigret Pond Eco Tours with TKC's Brooke Longval
Come explore beautiful Ninigret Pond by kayak on a guided eco tour. This relaxing and educational trip will take you through a variety of coastal habitats including salt marsh, sand flats and eelgrass beds which are home to dozens of species of plants, birds, fish and invertebrates.
Following a short introduction about the geology and natural history of this 1700 acre pond, we will set out in one of our stable single or double kayaks for a few hours of gentle paddling and exploration with an expert guide.
Brooke Longval will be your guide for this terrific experience. She received a PhD in Biological Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and has spent nearly 10 years studying the ecology of Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island's coastal waters. She is an avid paddler and member of the Kayak Centre team.
No experience required. This is perfect trip for individuals, families or groups interested in the ecology of this amazing area or those just looking for a gentle kayak adventure in a terrific place.
Ninigret Pond is one of the premiere saltwater ponds of southern Rhode Island. It is uncrowded and in many ways still one of Rhode Island’s undiscovered gems.

Mother's and Fathers Day Paddle
Bring your Mom or Dad for a terrific morning on the water! Accompanied by a Kayak Centre guide you’ll experience the charm of Wickford Village from our stable fleet of double kayaks. No experience is needed for this gentle adventure. We suggest comfortable clothing that can get wet (just in case!) as well as water sports shoes or some old sneakers. Take them paddling before brunch!

Moonlight Paddle
Join us for an evening of paddling magic as we watch the night sky come alive. A terrific way to experience the wonders of night kayaking under a full moon! Our glow-stick flotilla departs from our Wickford waterfront and winds through the harbor. The rain date is the following evening.

Great Swamp Adventure
This trip is an excursion into hidden jungle-like retreats that cannot be reached in any other way. We’ll float into a vast state-owned management area on one river, paddle through shallow ponds, and follow a river that snakes its way through dense vine-draped vegetation. The Great Swamp is home to many habitats, migratory birds and a host of small mammals. There will be no doubt in your mind why we call this the Great Swamp Adventure. Pack your lunch and a camera!

Seal Watching
The waters around the Wickford area provide a wonderful opportunity each fall to view migrating harbor seals on their journey south. Join the Kayak Centre team for this terrific experience! In double kayaks, we’ll get close enough to quietly observe but keep plenty of distance so that we don’t disturb. A great way to spend part of a crisp November day and experience seal watching from a different perspective.
